Head tremors or bobble head

Bulldogs are constantly being misdiagnosed with epilepsy because people are unaware of HEAD TREMORS that are normal for them. It is developmental and your bully will eventually out grow it, mine did. When this first happened to Mugsy she had just woken up from a nap and was doing this shaking with her head like the dog in the video. I freaked out and called the vet thinking she was having some kind of seizure.

They told me to first calm down because my being upset would upset HER. So I pulled myself together and they calmly explained to me she would be fine. Not all bulldogs get head tremors but if they do it usually goes away within a few months. The treatment for it is a teaspoon of Emetrol Syrup that is found in any grocery store and they will usually stop the shaking within minutes. Unfortunately for those who don’t know this simple remedy they rush to the vet and spend sometimes hundreds of dollars on blood tests, medications and treatments they don’t need. It is a misfiring of the neurotransmitters in the brain while your bulldog is developing. It usually comes on at a year or a year and a half but can show up anytime in some dogs. So don’t panic. Keep Emetrol on hand and your baby will be fine.

  • If you’d like to buy some Emetrol please see the merchandise page on this website! I keep in in my pantry all the time.
